A Series of Unfortunate Events Month - Hufflepuffs of The Series -

As I type this I have the Grim Grotto  (the 11th book in the series) in my lap. I finally started reading it today and I am already 109 pages in. It is already so suspenseful because I am at the part where the captain told the Baudelaires to get some shut-eye while he brings everyone on board the the secretive sugar bowl. Anyways, as you can tell by the title, I will be sharing the Hufflepuffs of the series with you. I got this brilliant idea whenever Phil appeared once again and I just realized what a Hufflepuff he is. So lets get started with him.

Phil
Phil is that one guy from Lucky-Smells Lumbermill, do you remember him? He's that guy who was optimistic 24/7. Those are just a few of the traits he shows of being a true Hufflepuff. Phil is always so calm and kind, even if someone accidentally stamps him with a huge machine. I'm a Hufflepuff and if someone stamped me with a big machine, I definitely wouldn't stay calm. Lets give Phil some love for that because we all know that we wouldn't be able to stay that optimistic, especially after that. He's already a pretty underrated character. Also, Phil -like many Hufflepuffs- still likes adventure. He was getting pretty tired of the miserable mill and decided to join the captain on the submarine. That proves that Hufflepuffs want to lead adventurous lives and are as brave as Gryffindors.

Quigley Quagmire
He was almost as positive as Phil. I am hoping that he is alive and well and hasn't drowned to death. I was about to start crying over him when i imagined the possibility of him being alive. Quigley is always so sweet and giving compliments, the most the Violet who I think he has a serious crush on. When Violet was pointing out the view from Mount Fraught ("What a view"), Quigley looked at Violet instead and said "Yeah, quite a view". I was like dieing from shipping so much. Those aren't the exact lines by the way. Before we get into that ship, lets get back to what we were actually talking about. So, just like Phil he has the traits of a Gryffindor, but mostly Hufflepuff traits. He has a little Ravenclaw in him too, from keeping a commonplace notebook full of useful information, to wearing a Snow Scout mask as a disguise. But most of all, a kind Hufflepuff.

Aunt Josephine
Under all her frightened features, she was quite a Hufflepuff. Josephine was really trying to keep the Baudelaires safe and sound, but of course she failed as all of the other guardians. She did a pretty great job of it actually, better than some of the other guardians. Like Quigley and Phil, Josephine had the features of Gryffindor too. She did some pretty risky tasks and it was all for their protection which makes her more of a Hufflepuff. Josephine has some Ravenclaw in her like Quigley, with her passion of grammar and using her grammar skills to make a secret note. But she used that note to save the Baudelaires, so, again traits of a Hufflepuff. I know that she was on the good side of V.F.D. (at  least I think I know), but is it even a good thing to be a volunteer.

Uncle Monty
One of the most loyal guardians to the Baudelaires. His interest in creatures and urge to protect the Baudelaires are just a few of the things that show he is a Hufflepuff. He truly cared about the Baudelaires as much as Aunt Josephine did. Still, he has some Gryffindor traits in him. I don't think anyone else would be okay with all those reptiles in their home. I mean Hagrid would, but we're talking about A Series of  Unfortunate Events. Count Olaf was okay with going in there with them and killing Uncle Monty, but that's a different subject. Monty was a kind soul that we will miss maybe a little more than Aunt Josephine's. He was also a V.F.D. member, I'm certain a good side member.

Justice Strauss
She was from the very first book of the series, the judge who lived across the from Count Olaf. How she stood will always be a mystery. Probably because she was so nice that she didn't see the evil in him. At least she didn't think he was so good that she joined his troupe. Anyways, some things that showed Strauss was a Hufflepuff was her kindness to the Baudelaires, lending them her library, comforting them in hard times. Her library, like most libraries, gave lots of useful information. It helped so Violet wouldn't have to marry Olaf so that he could steal the Baudelaire fortune. So, Justice Strauss is definitely a Hufflepuff. She doesn't have much Gryffindor in her,  but she has a little Ravenclaw. She has a whole entire library full of law books and she knows all about being a lawyer. Even if she wasn't intelligent enough to realize Olaf's plan (most people didn't realize it, only the Baudelaires could), she's still pretty smart.

I haven't posted in a while and I wanted to tell you why. It's basically just because of fall break and all this Halloween shopping.  Follow, comment any other Hufflepuffs from the series, and check out my other blog posts.Happy fall break!
